Bound for Brazil!!

Hello everyone!

As many of you know, our LIFT team departs tomorrow morning for Brazil! We will be leaving Camp-of-the-Woods at 6:30 AM for Newark Airport. We then fly to Miami, Sau Paulo, and then Belem. I have attached our itinerary below so you can follow our progress, and where we will be during our two week mission trip down in Brazil.

There are many more things that we need to do before we leave, but please continue to pray for our LIFT team while we are down there, the Trezise family who we will be teaming up with down there, and for safety and for health. Also, pray that the Holy Spirit will be moving in all the Brazilian people down there as well.

Our group was asked to lead a youth service on Saturday evening, so please pray for that. We have currently put together a couple dramas, a story, a game, and a few songs. Please pray it will have an everlasting impact on the youth this coming Saturday.

I will see if there is any way to update this blog while I am down in Brazil. It doesn't look promising, but be sure to keep us in your prayers each day, and I will look forward to seeing you all in the beginning of May, and hopefully talking to you when we all return from Brazil in the later part of April!

ITINERARY:

Thursday, the 2nd Team travels to Newark, flies to Miami, flies to Sau Paulo, Flies to Belem


April 3rd-5th Team rest and prepare for river time and also explain and show PAZ/ MDA cell groups and church.


Friday, the 3rd Team of 21 arrives. Transport team to Sitio Shalom with two vans. Vans arrive at 1000.

Saturday, the 4th

Sunday, the 5th


Monday, the 6th Two vans pick up team at 0700 at Sitio and then meet Yeshua (PAZ boat) at AV bridge at 0900. Arrive in Bosque by 1100 for lunch and settle in. Start work that afternoon.


April 7-11 (Tuesday-Saturday) divide into two teams and finish work on Parita and Ilha churches. Replacing a dock, painting doors and windows and walls.

Parita Team: Nellie, Katie, Kristen, Erin, Justyna, Harim, Tim, Peter, Jeffrey
Ilha Team: Becky, Kim, Megan, Sherri, Sarah, Matt, Brianna, Emory, Chris

Sunday, the 12th Day of rest for team and church activities at Alça Viaria.


April 13&14 (Monday & Tuesday) Team joins forces with Primicias (other PAZ boat) at AV church with 30 filters and begin distributing filters on the Rio Acará. From 13th till 15th team sleeps and is based on the boats Yeshua or Primicias and does not return to Bosque. We’ll dock at AV or Mamão.

Wednesday, the 15th Team returns to AV bridge to meet vans at 1400 and then go directly to Belem guesthouse until flight out on 16th. Debrief and pizza and wash clothes, arrange bags.

Thursday, the 16th Team flies out at 1750. The team will have time to shop for souvenirs at airport.

Friday, the 17th Team flies to Newark then drives to COTW.
